The Client:
Our Client is one of the UK's leading independent freight forwarders and are looking for an IT Support Technician to join their Technical Services Team based in Slough.

The Role:
Responsibilities include the implementation and support of VMware 4.0, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 2008 Server R2, Microsoft Systems Centre, HP Server hardware and Symantec Backup Exec. In addition, Cisco CCNA would be desirable, although this is not essential.

The role will also include 1st and 2nd line work assignments and overflow support for the company Helpdesk.

The Candidate:
Must have proven background with the above skills, the successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running, be a good team player with good communication skills, have a flexible approach to work and be able to develop effective customer relationships, internally and externally.

The Salary:
c£25,000 dependent on experience.

This position is for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Video Conferencing Support

Video Conferencing Support – based in Crawley within a global organisation

A great company with an excellent heritage; they have some pretty ambitious growth plans and need somebody with a wide skill set who can offer Video Conferencing Support. The position with be managed locally but will be part of a team based in the US.

Job Duties:
* Manage video conferencing activity through building calls, testing connectivity, and maintaining call integrity on the network bridges using gatekeeper and bridge manager software.
* Managing requests and incidents from customers,
* Ensuring customer's SLA's are met
* Configuration and administration of audio visual systems
* Maintenance & Intervention with special knowledge on video conferencing environment
* They will be considered a subject matter expert in their field and is expected to stay current with various technologies, organizational goals and industry trends to drive value
* Escalate technical issues to vendor and be the point of contact for engineers on site visits
* Participate in developing guidelines and procedures, and maintain documentation for video networks
* Develop, Improve, Maintain and Implement the video communication network
* Manage local vendor relationships and contracts
* Perform other duties as required

Technical Requirements:
* Experience working with video conferencing endpoints and infrastructure products (Polycom, Tandberg)
* Experience in the installation, the configuration and the resolution of audio visual and conferencing issues
* Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks
* Knowledge of AV technology, equipment and industry standards
* Experience trouble shooting AV equipment and overseeing routine maintenance
* Basic Knowledge in the integration of voice and video in a Microsoft unified communication environment
* Stay current with rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Effectively prioritize, manage, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
* Ability to work independently to accomplish goals and objectives.
* Available to work flexible hours
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to work effectively as part of a global team and foster team cooperation
* Ability to liaise directly with senior level customer personnel and manage customer expectations correctly
* Experience in a global environment is preferred
* Able to travel internally and internationally.

IT Senior Support Engineer

The Role:

Our Client is currently looking to recruit an IT support engineer to assist with the on-going support and consultancy services they provide to their clients who are primarily based along the M11 corridor. Ideally, we are looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

The Candidate:

- Extensive experience with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003/2008/2011
- Good overall knowledge of Microsoft Server, Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange. Ranging from 2003 versions to the latest.
- Good networking knowledge – switch configuration, router configuration, wireless. Ideally with DrayTek and HP networking equipment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft OSs.
- Good interpersonal and client care skills to ensure clients receive a good service and soft sell other solutions etc.
- Must be willing to carry out tasks that range from 1st to 3rd line however this role would mainly be a senior support role.
- Microsoft SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
- Microsoft Certifications would be advantageous.
- Experience with Sophos AV would be good.
- Essentially must have a full UK driving license and car.

The Salary:

£35,000 – £40,000

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Working knowledge of Relational Database (RDBMS) technology with specific administration ability in Microsoft SQL (2000/2005) and/or Oracle (9i/10g/11g).
Working knowledge of Unix, Sun Solaris, Linux, and/or Macintosh operating systems.
Good understanding of PC imaging and OS Migration technologies, Sysprep, “Wake on LAN” and “Pre Execution Environment” (PXE).
Candidates who also hold any of the following qualifications will be preferred but these are not essential.
