Voted one of the best companies to work for in the UK, this large, employee company has and immediate need for a Front End Developer to join a fantastic team at an exciting time.
You will help build new tech products to address Global Infrastructure’s biggest challenges.
From using big data to help 350,000 residents in Auckland to know the best beaches to swim based on water quality, through to helping the World’s busiest airport predict congestion 5-years in the future. You will play a key part in developing new solutions for Governments and industry-leading organisations to transform the way cities operate.
The team is focused on helping Clients ‘realise the true value of information’, how it can improve their efficiency and provide for better outcomes for improved environmental, economic and social outcomes.
You will be part of an exciting team responsible for developing their cloud-based analytics platform, currently used by their largest clients across the world, and working to scale it. They are seeking a demonstrable ability to create rich front-end functionality and experience in working with truly big data.
The specific duties include:
*Building a dynamic and responsive user interface.
*Adding new front-end features to the smart infrastructure platform.
*Managing your work across multiple projects.
*Participate in code & design reviews on new and existing projects.
*Building functionality to be used on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
*Management of multiple projects at various stages of the development lifecycle in parallel, working on both high and low spec jobs.
*Optimisation and refactoring of code as well as bug fixing in existing projects, conducting peer reviews on new and existing projects.
We are seeking a dynamic and talented person with good commercial experience in Front-end Development that can show work product from their career to date and describe their specific inputs. The candidate should have a strong understanding of UI design, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
The successful candidate must be a team player and effective communicator, confident in their capability, whilst able to recognise areas for development. They must be able to think creatively and should always be seeking new and more efficient ways to improve the application and associated business processes. They must be able to manage their own time and work effectively with the wider team, sharing their knowledge and developing others.
*Unit and End-to-End testing experience.
*Understanding of TDD as a general development practice.
*Experience of CI/CD.
*An awareness of; security management, Object Oriented Design, Web Services Rest, multimedia content development, Azure / AWS.
*Knowledge of technologies like Bower, Node and NPM would also be beneficial.
