Azure Data Engineer – Contract (3 months initially) – up to £525 / day – near Epsom, Surrey (commute easiest by car).
The Opportunity :
Our client, a global automotive company based near Epsom, Surrey is looking for an Azure Data Engineer to work on an initial project to help automate marketing processes. This is to start ASAP and will be an initial 3 month contract – there is the opportunity for long-term extensions for the right candidate, once you have demonstrated you are a good fit for the team/company.
We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to work on an initial project to help automate marketing processes. This will involve the creation of data extracts driven from key business data sources and transferred to the client’s marketing automation platform for execution. Data will also be collected back from the marketing automation platform and utilised in a set of reports to show overall campaign performance. You will work with a team including data analysts / experts and other developers to ensure full end to end delivery of the solution. Our client has many other active projects in Azure covering data engineering, reporting / analytics and systems integration that you could move on to once the initial assignment is successfully completed.
Key Skills / Experience:
*Strong data engineering experience using core Microsoft Azure technologies: Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse, Analysis Services
*Development using Python (for data engineering) and SQL
*CI/CD using Azure DevOps
*Azure database experience (Synapse EDW, SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL)
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Experience of working within a Scrum / Agile delivery team that are fully responsible for the quality of the software they build and deploy
*A proven track record of delivering well engineered solutions using best practices such as TDD, CI/CD, peer review etc.
*C# development skills
*Experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service)
*Experience of wider Azure services used for infrastructure build and monitoring (ARM, Policy, Monitor, Log Analytics etc)
*Experience of implementing big data / analytics services
*Experience working with an environment where operation support and monitoring of code and systems is part of the culture (DevOps)
