Nic Poland

Managing Director

Nic entered the IT industry in 1973 working for a computer bureau and software house.  In 1989 he was one of two people who performed a management buyout of the recruitment division of the company that is known today as TLP Consultancy Ltd.  He continues to perform a hands-on role and is actively involved with many client accounts as well as managing the day to day operation of the business.

Colin Dologhan

Regional Account Director

Colin joined TLP Consultancy in 2005 and now has over 12 years experience in the IT recruitment arena. He has a wealth of knowledge of the sector and prides himself on being able to attract applicants for those ‘hard to fill’ roles. His modus operandi is one of providing quality rather than quantity in the candidates that he submits for client roles.

He has has built lasting relationships with companies in many sectors including finance, banking and utilities where he forms an integral part of their recruitment processes . He has also been instrumental in the successful growth of smaller, niche organisations who require very specific skill-sets. Throughout his career he has strived to provide a service that is open, honest and successful and this is borne out by the number of companies who have, and still do, utilise his services.

Colin is always happy to speak to candidates and provide advice, be it recommendations to improve a CV, the best job-boards to use or constructive criticism after an interview.

Recruitment is about people, not commodities and it is Colin’s belief everybody should be treated with respect.

Mike Garland

Regional Account Director

Mike Garland has been in IT recruitment since 1986 and with TLP since 1997. He has worked with many major companies throughout the UK and Europe, achieving preferred supplier status with most of them. Mike’s approach has always been to build a personal rapport with clients, with the result that TLP has achieved an impressive list of long term clients. Although able to provide the full range of IT candidates, Mike has specialised in recent years in providing interim, contract and permanent Consultants, Project Managers and Business Analysts.

Chloe Bateman

Chloe is a Recruitment Resourcer in the Professional Division

The division specialises in sourcing Senior IT Professionals ranging from Business Analysts and Project/Programme Managers to IT Directors and Interim Consultants.

Chloe assists with the identification of companies who would benefit from TLP’s premium service and strengthening the candidate database of suitably experienced senior candidates.

Martin Pyke

Account Director .Net

Martin’s career in recruitment started in 2000 with a large corporate recruitment company where they were more bothered about hitting ‘sales’ targets than providing a first class service to both candidates and clients. He decided early on that this wasn’t the environment for him and wasn’t the way to build genuine relationships so joined TLP Consultancy in 2004 whose philosophy is the exact opposite.

He believes in nurturing long term relationships, actually meeting candidates and clients and supporting both throughout the recruitment process. He also returns phone calls!

Martin has been recruiting .Net Developers since Beta-1 in 2000, he covers all aspects of the .Net framework and its peripherals not just Development, these include support, testing and management of .Net systems and projects.

As a result the company has developed an extensive database of the top .Net professionals, both contract and permanent, so should you be looking for a contractor for a 3 months project or a permanent employee for a long term career, do give him a call.

Mike Steel

Mike is a Resourcer in the growing .NET Division.  After spending 15 years in Financial Consultancy, Mike decided that he wanted to focus on a new direction where he would be able to build and foster new relationships in a challenging sector.

Mike is skilled in sourcing talented developers at all levels both on the contract and permanent side. He is currently building an extensive network of contacts with a view to further growing the division during the coming years.

Greg Stringer

Recruitment Consultant

Networks and Infrastructure

Following a career in finance working for a FTSE 100 company Greg moved into recruitment five years ago working across a number of sectors including Construction, Oil and Gas and Information Technology. He subsequently joined a Cisco Gold Partner / Mitel Premier Partner as an Account Manager but decided his future lay within the IT recruitment sector.

As a result he joined TLP Consultancy at the beginning of 2011 to expand the company’s reach in the Network and Infrastructure  space and perform the role of Account Manager to a number of existing accounts.

Greg has a strong technical background and manages the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and pre-screening, to closing and hiring. He can also assist with Executive Search briefs whether it be contract permanent or Interim.

Richard Edgerton

Account Director Risk and Compliance

Richard has a wealth of industry experience, including 17 years as a Senior Manager for two Blue Chip FTSE 100 companies where he worked in HR, Business Development, Operations and Marketing.

He moved into recruitment 6 years ago and joined the TLP Consultancy in 2008 where he specialises in senior roles for a number of high profile financial clients in the UK, Europe and the US focusing on the recruitment of permanent, contract and Interim Risk and Compliance professionals.

He is highly skilled in all aspects of the recruitment process, with a proven record in senior level recruitment and executive search and specialises in the placement of permanent, contract, and interim positions across Risk functions, Internal Audit, Banking and Financial Services careers up to Director level.

The risk recruiting division covers enterprise risk, market risk, credit risk, operational risk, financial compliance, risk technology and quantitative finance and since joining the company he has established preferred supplier relationships with a number of financial companies, including Investment, Retail and Private Banks, Software Houses and leading Consulting companies in the UK and Europe.

His experience extends to managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and pre-screening, to closing and hiring, Executive Search, managing engagements for leadership roles in the UK and South Africa as well as conducting competency based interviews.

Richard adds genuine value to the recuitment process and is a Member of the Basel ii Compliance Professionals Association (BCPA)

Nicky Hodges

Nicky is a Recruitment Resourcer at TLP Consultancy – Risk and Compliance Division

The division specialises in recruiting in the following enterprise risk, market risk, credit risk, operational risk, financial compliance, risk technology and quantitative finance.

She specialises in the placement of permanent, contract, and interim positions across Risk functions, Internal Audit, Banking and Financial Services careers up to Director level throughout the UK and Europe.

She is currently developing relationships and preferred supplier opportunities within Banking & Financial Services. She is always interested in extending her network of IT professional so feel free to contact her.
