Business Analyst (Senior) are being sought by my leading financial services client, they are based in East Surrey and are going through a period of growth throughout the business.

The successful Business Analyst will have many years experience years experience in a Business Analyst position, experience of the full project lifecycle and the ability to 'hit the ground running'. Although sitting within IT the successful Business Analysts will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the business and will be comfortable working on non-IT projects.

You will be expected to take turn ideas into requirements and work through the entire lifecycle, this may be as an individual or as part of a team, you will be confident and comfortable in dealing with the business. Financial Services experience is NOT a pre-requisite.

Candidates will be comfortable working with various methodologies, be they Agile or Waterfall, following Prince guidelines and will ideally be ISEB Certified.

In terms of projects they will vary from IT & Infrastructure through to Legislative changes and RFCs.

These positions will suit people who can bring a depth of BA experience to a growing and busy team, individuals who can remain calm under pressure and communicate with (sometimes difficult) stakeholders throughout the business.

Ideally candidates will have some background in the Financial Services sector, 5+ years experience in a Business Analyst position, experience of the full project lifecycle and the ability to 'hit the ground running'. Although sitting within IT, the successful Business Analysts will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the business and will be very comfortable working on non-IT projects.

Candidates will be comfortable working with various methodologies, be they Agile or Waterfall, following Prince guidelines and will ideally be ISEB Certified.

In terms of projects they will vary, but will likely be more business rather than IT focussed, BAs who have focussed, in the main, on IT projects are unlikely to be considered.

Your responsibilities will include: working with customers to extract requirements and agree the designs – designing solutions that are modular, scalable and portable – estimate the effort required to deliver the solution and provide justification for the estimates – identification of technical deliverables, risks and impact for the chosen solution – document all of the above in a Project Initiation Document for customer sign-off identify and apply existing solutions to customer requirements (including reading existing source code).
Your backgorund and experience will include:
Either
At least five years experience in a development environment, at least partially in a senior, analytical role.
Or
At least 3 years experience in an analytical, business analyst or IT consultative role, with exposure to web applications and RDBMS.
You will also have experience in some of the following:
Programming experience in with large-volume transactional systems.
Experience with relational databases & SQL.
Knowledge of web systems and their limitations.
Knowledge of XML.
Experience of financial transactional processing systems.
Exposure to web applications and RDBMS
